The Validation Framework

How a scored signal earns its way into a funded build — the measurable gates we set before an initiative graduates into a venture.

Signal-to-Venture Validation

  1. 1
State the thesisWrite the single claim the initiative exists to prove — specific enough that it can be falsified.
  2. 2
Define success criteriaSet measurable gates up front. If the thesis is true, these are the numbers we should see.
  3. 3
Run the validation sprintBuild the smallest credible test. Real demand, real willingness to pay — not surveys.
  4. 4
Grade against the gatesEither the criteria hold and the initiative graduates, or they don't and we kill it without sentiment.

A score is not a decision

A high Opportunity Score gets a signal into the queue — it does not fund a build. Validation is where the studio puts the thesis under load.

Each initiative carries an explicit sourcing block: the signal that triggered it, the thesis being tested, and the success criteria that must hold before graduation.

Graduate or kill

The discipline is in the gates. If the criteria hold, the initiative graduates into a funded venture. If they don't, it ends — and the learning feeds the next sprint.

MapiLeads is the canonical example: a lead-database thesis that cleared its gates and became the Lead Generation venture.
